What to expect

Whether you've attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in one before, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. You’re not quite sure what to expect. You probably have a lot of questions. Here’s some information that should help:

Worship

At Kilkenny Presbyterian Church, you'll be welcomed into a friendly, casual environment by people who are excited to see you as we worship God together. All you have to do from here is come as you are! Music and singing is just one of the many ways that we worship. We are led by a team of musicians and vocalists in what we hope is authentic, creative, Christ centred and God exalting worship. We sing original songs, historic hymns and many current worship songs.

The Word

The most important thing we could say is, we aim to teach the Bible in a way that is engaging, understandable and applicable. Transformation is inseparable from application, so you will find the teaching here always ends in “how does this truth challenge, encourage or guide me right where I am?”

Prayer

A special time during the week is devoted to prayer, Wednesdays and Saturdays (see calendar for more details). Needs from inside and outside the church family frequently are made known. The congregation prays together in an orderly manner as they bring they requests and thanksgivings to God.

Children

In a warm, secure and loving environment, 4-12 years old receive biblical instruction consistent with their age. Our teachers go "all out” to make their Sunday time vibrant, creative and Christ-centred. Truth is communicated “hands-on,” stimulating kids to experience the realities of the Bible and the Christian life for themselves.

Younger kids may go to creche where they are cared for while parents attend Sunday Worship.
